snorkeling fun~!

just got back from pulau bidong a couple of hours ago..
had a two days one night stay there..
this trip includes bioD and bio students..
which was divided into four different groups : jerung, pari, udang(my group) and ketam..
we had to carry out four different activities : kayak-ing, snorkeling, fishing and jungle trekking..

before knowing i had fun anot in this programme..
i must first tell you guys about pulau bidong..
it's a beautiful island which is divided into four parts..
UMT was awarded or signed contract with the state government to be incharged in one of the parts - not so sure about it..
thus, having this part of the island,
UMT is able to carry out this special@unique programme which is compulsory to all first year students..
and no other universities have this kind of programme..^^

to reach pulau bidong,
we have to take a ferry..
and it took nearly an hour to reach the island..
p/s: according to one of my seniors pulau bidong is just opposite pulau redang..

our first session was WATER CONFIDENT..
nice!~
1. float on water - in the sea
2. swim to the UMT boat
3. jump off from the boat
4. swim back to the island
swimming was hard for me as we were required to wear life jacket
and the distance from the island to the boat or viceversa was quite far..
i thought i was brave enough to jump off from the boat..
but when the time came, i doubted my bravery..
my heart were beating rapidly when i stood on the edge of the boat to jump..
but thank god..i did it!~^^

my first activity in the TEROKAAN SELUAS LAUTAN session was snorkeling~^^
man! the seabase is so BEAUTIFUL..
i nearly dont want to get up from the water as it's so amazing..
i managed to see a school of small fishes passing by..
and i even managed to see a variety of other fishes and coral reefs..
the one that really amazed my eyes was the rainbow fish - not sure of it's real name..
shall go snorkeling again one day..

my second activity was fishing..
didnt manage to catch any fish.
and i nearly feel like vomiting when i see a guy vomited into the sea..
ewww!~`
anyway my group managed to catch eight fishes..
there's a group caught 28 fishes..

the third one was jungle trekking or jejak warisan..
we were brought to an abandoned village..
it was once a vietnam village..
we didnt managed to see much compared to our seniors as we have only one hour in the jungle trekking..
but our faci managed to tell us the history or the background of the vietnamese..

the last activity was kayak-ing..
one comment for this activity : so TIRING!`
as we have to use our handpower..
it's my first time kayak-ing..
and i think my partner nearly got fed up with me..
lolx!~ sorry ya..

kinda going to miss this survival laut programme..
and i really do hope that i will be able to go snorkeling again one day..
Txin must join oh!~^^

p/s:
our seniors had a three days two nights stay in pulau bidong while my batch had a two days one night stay there..
we were not allowed to bring any shampoos or lotions as we might harm the coral reefs..
the source of water is sea water - for bathing and air tawar - for cooking and cleaning lifejackets, masks & fins..
we sleep in a tent of course..with five people sharing.
